Welcome

Through my years at Philadelphia University, I have been involved in many activities.  I am currently an Associate Professor in Textile Technology, School of Textiles & Materials,  with Weave technology as my specialty.  During the 2002 - 2004 academic years, I serve as the Secretary of the University Faculty and was recognized with  the President's Award for Teaching Excellence, May 2002.

Since the early 70s, I have been deeply involved with the Textile Design program.  Currently I am the coordinator for both the BS Textile Design and BS Textile Technology programs.  It is an exciting time for both majors as we strive to keep abreast of fast moving technology, an ever-changing global textile industry and enrollment challenges.

Today it sounds unusual that CAD was introduced into textile design education just a little over a decade ago.  Insuring that CAD became and remains an integral part of the curriculum has been a driving interest of mine over this period.  Obtaining the necessary software and hardware for students, training for faculty to stay up-dated, and actual integration into every student's design process are continuing initiatives.

Seamless Learning has become a buzz word in education, but I have always believed that much is learned outside the classroom.  I  have been enriched greatly through my participation in student activities as I hope they have.

Staying current with the industry is more important than ever.  Seminars:Textile and Apparel Industry Issues is an important vechicle to keep the students aware of some of what is happening.

There is life outside the University.  My love for gardening has been expanded with my digital camera.
