Jeremy A. Rosenau is the Kurt Salmon Chair of Fashion Industry Management. He was named to this position in 1999. He began his teaching career at Philadelphia University as an Adjunct Professor in 1991 and shortly thereafter was named Assistant Professor in the School of Textiles and Materials Technology. In 2005 he was promoted to Associate Professor and in 2007 was named as Director for the graduate program in Fashion Apparel Studies. In 2002, Jerry earned his BA from Cornell in 1951 and his MBA from Philadelphia University in 1995. His under graduate teaching responsibilities have included Survey of the Apparel Industry and Apparel Merchandising Management. At the graduate level he teaches Distribution Management, Sourcing Strategies, and Product Development. In 2001, he co-authored Apparel Merchandising: The Line Starts Here which was published by Fairchild books. A second edition was published in 2006. It is considered to be the premier textbook in its field and has been adopted by over 30 institutions of higher education. He is listed in the Who is Who of American teachers. He currently serves on both the Children’s Marketing Division and Human Resource Development Council of the American Apparel and Footwear Association.
Prior to teaching, Jerry Rosenau was President of Nannette Manufacturing Company, Inc. a world renown children’s apparel company. He served as President of the Childrenswear Manufacturers Association. His 35 years of business experience is a invaluable asset in the classroom when analyzing the global dynamics of the apparel industry.
He has a lifetime devotion to charitable organizations. He was President of Willowcrest- Bamberger, a skilled nursing hospital and Vice Chairman of the Board of Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. He currently is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Abington Memorial Hospital Foundation. |
