DX: FIRST ASSIGNMENT

For the first day of class, you are asked to develop an essay concerning the program and site selection.  

Program development involves both quantitative and qualitative aspects.  For this first assignment, you will be asked to primarily deal with the qualitative aspects. 

Include the following in your program description:
· State the specific topic or concern of your project, why you are interested in it, and what value you think that the investigation has to (an aspect of) architecture.
· State the program.  How does it exemplify the specific topic of your project?
· State the project's goals - what you intend to achieve and the purpose of the study
· State the scope of study/project
· Address the issue of ecological design or environmental sustainability relative to your chosen program.
· Address the activities to be accommodated

Your site choice should also be included in the assignment.  Please discuss how the site is appropriate to the chosen program and it's goals.

If the site you choose will not easily accessible during the semester, please gather the documentation (i.e. maps and photos) prior to the beginning of semester.

Please feel free to incorporate any other relevant issues or information.
