ARCH 311 Design 5: The Sustainable Studio
Design 5 explores issues of “sustainability”, starting with an analysis of that vague term. The course focuses on how the growing global awareness of interconnections specifically affects the built environment and those realms that have obvious, and inconspicuous, relationships with architecture. The course also challenges the students to be critical of technology and its applications and integrations. Through in-depth analysis of program, climate and human comfort, the student is expected to create an appropriate design response.
