Environmental Science is the study of   how organism and the natural environment interact. Critical issues that affect our day by day

lives as a citizen of the EARTH  such as clean drinking water, soils, pesticides, urban biogeochemistry,  energy availability, global

changes, acid rain and recycling are explored from ecological, chemical, social, and political perspectives in a local, national and international context. Each lecture section meets  3 hours per week and all students are required to complete a hands-on environmental project

culminating in a PowerPoint presentation to their class.  This is a general education course that supports the Philadelphia University mission

to develop writing, information literacy, and scientific problem-solving skills. Then  teamwork is critical in course delivery.

All instructors coordinate designated in-class activities with the Paul Gutman library and  Learning and Advising Center, and environmental project.
